As a kid, Seong Joon was ugly and fat. He didn't have any friends until he moved next door to the popular and pretty Kim Hye Jin who quickly became his friend. She always stood up for Seong Joon whenever other kids bullied him and provided comfort during depressing days. They grew to become each other's first love, which was short-lived as Seong Joon and his father moved to the United States. 15 years later, Seong Joon returns to South Korea and seeks to reunite with Hye Jin, after not having seen each other for so many years. However,  as an adult, Hye Jin is no longer the pretty and popular Hye Jin Seong Joon once knew. Anxious to reconnect with her childhood friend, but afraid to see what he'd think if he was to meet her in her current state, Hye Jin asks her best friend, Ha Ri, to pretend to be Hye Jin and meet Seong Joon. Just when the sham is almost up, Hye Jin becomes an intern at the fashion magazine where Seong Joon has just been recently transferred to as an editor.

Na Bo Ri desperately wants to become a teacher at the same high school she was kicked out of many years ago due to a misunderstanding with one her teachers over beating up a group of male classmates. Bo Ri tries her best to get hr life together and studies to get her GED. She rejects job offers from other high schools and works towards getting a job at her old high school so she can work alongside her high school love interest, the art teacher Ji Hyun Woo. However, the only thing that enables her to get the coveted job is by signing a contract to essentially babysit Park Tae In, a notorious troublemaker who attends the high school. Tae In, a lonely youth, is known as the king of the high school, and enjoys playing mean tricks on Bo Ri whose easygoing personality attracts the majority of her students. No Gemma quickly grows jealous of the relationship between Bo Ri and Tae In, and sets out on a mission to get Bo Ri fired from the school.
