Getting inside and unraveling the minds of the most vicious criminals is not an easy task. Simon Bo Jin Yan is a brilliant criminal profiler from the US who is able to understand psychopathic criminals and crack down on the toughest cases. However, he retreats home to China in the aftermath of a traumatic encounter with a serial killer who had imprisoned and tortured Jin Yan. While in China, he hires Jian Yao as his assistant to help him with his work. With Jin Yan's high IQ and Jian Yao's high EQ, the pair crack down on difficult cases, only to discover a unique connection among them all.
